Cowgirl Soccer Rolls Through Spring Exhibition Doubleheader

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State completed a successful Saturday with two spring exhibition victories in a home doubleheader as the Cowgirls powered past Central Oklahoma, 6-3, in their opener before finishing the day with a 4-1 win over Seminole State at Neal Patterson Stadium.
With the wins, the Cowgirls improved to 3-0 on the spring season.
The opening match of the day saw Aubrey Wagner lead the charge for the Cowgirls scoring within the early minutes of the game. Tyller Grimes followed with a goal before transfer Emma Jensen extended the lead in the 15th minute.
In the second half, UCO responded with goals in the 58th, 68th and 69th minutes, but the Cowgirls' offense remained in control as Sophia Baker found the net in the 43rd minute. Reganne Morris later added to the score before Wagner secured a brace to seal the victory for the Cowgirls.
Following the win over UCO, the Cowgirls returned to face Seminole State in their second match of the day.
The match proved to be a physical battle, with both teams playing strong defense throughout the game. OSU broke through with Wagner scoring the opening goal of the game once again, giving the Cowgirls an early advantage. Just two minutes later, Sherline King extended the lead with a goal in the 33rd minute.
Seminole State responded early in the second half with a goal to narrow OSU's lead to 2-1, but the Cowgirls continued to apply pressure and Emily Senatore found the net in the 55th minute to extend the lead. Sonora DeFini delivered the final goal to secure the win.
OSU returns to action March 28 against Oral Roberts at Neal Patterson Stadium.
