Oklahoma State Basketball Teams Announce Special Guests At Homecoming & Hoops – Remix

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's basketball announced today former OSU hoops standouts Desmond Mason and Tiffany Bias will be joined alongside the official DJ of the Miami Heat, DJ Irie, as special guests at Homecoming & Hooops – Remix presented by Homeland next Friday outside on the basketball court at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house at 1207 West University Avenue. The event will take the place of Homecoming & Hoops, which was previously hosted at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early with the festivities scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Admission is free, although it is a first-come, first-serve event.
Both basketball squads will be introduced, and fans will have a chance to watch the Cowboys and Cowgirls in action. The OSU spirit squads will be out in full force, as well.
Mason, who played for OSU from 1996-2000, was drafted by Seattle with the 17th pick of the 2000 NBA draft and later became the first player in the franchise's history to win the NBA Dunk Contest. During Mason's 11-year career in the NBA, he averaged 30.5 minutes per game with 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.
More recently, he founded the Desmond Mason Art Show, which supports a variety of charitable organizations while his work has been on display at museums and galleries such as the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum.
Bias, who played at Oklahoma State from 2010-2014, was selected in the second round of the 2014 WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury. In just her first season, Bias helped the Mercury win the 2014 WNBA Championship after posting a 29-5 record.
At OSU, she averaged 12.2 points per game in her 133-game career while also averaging 5.9 assists per game. During her senior campaign, she notably helped lead the Cowgirls to the Sweet 16 for just the third time in school history and became the 20th Cowgirl ever to score 1,000 career points. She finished her career as just the second player in the program's history to record 500 assists.
America's Greatest Homecoming offers more than two dozen events for alumni, current and prospective students, friends and family over a nine-day period. The OSU Alumni Association is hosting a Homecoming Pep Rally at 8 p.m. that same Friday in the Formal Gardens on the west side of the OSU Student Union. The event will feature numerous special guests and performances as well as the announcement of all Homecoming awards for contests prior to the event.
Fans can purchase both men's and women's basketball season tickets, as well as tickets to next Saturday's football game against Kansas, at okstate.com/tickets.
