Cowboy Tennis Set for ITA Central Regional Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. - Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will be well represented at the ITA Central Regional Championships this week with two doubles teams and four singles players competing at the event.Â
ÂSenior Luke Hammond will be accompanied by junior Max Verboven, sophomore Leighton Allen and freshman Fran Pini in singles play.Â
ÂOn Thursday, Hammond is set to take on Matthew Lanaham from Creighton University. Pini will take on in-state rival Callum Gale from the University of Tulsa.Â
ÂVerboven and Allen both automatically advanced due to a bye in the first round.Â
ÂIn doubles action, Luke Hammond and Max Verboven will debut in doubles play when they square off against Foster Rogers and John Bortnick from the University of Arkansas.Â
ÂLeighton Allen and Fran Pini automatically advanced to the round of 32 to take on Victor Lozano and Dario Huber from the University of Nebraska.Â
ÂThe freshman-sophomore tandem of Allen and Pini made their first outing at the OSU Invitational, where they posted an impressive 6-0 mark on the weekend. Â
