Orpana and Zerulo Crowned Champions At Norman Open Series

NORMAN, OKLA. — Oklahoma State's women's tennis duo of Oona Orpana and Martina Zerulo won the doubles draw this afternoon at the Norman Open Series.
Orpana and Zerulo completed their perfect week with a victory over Mckenna Schaefbauer and Kelly Williford 6-2, 5-7 [10-6].
Orpana and Zerulo's run began with a, 5-7, 6-3, (10-7), win over Mercedes Aristegui and Helena Narmont to open the event.
Next, they took down Mercedes Aristegui and Helena Narmont in commanding fashion, 6-3, 6-2. In the semifinals, Orpana and Zerulo defeated fellow Cowgirl duo Ayumi Miyamoto and Mhai Sawangkaew, 7-6, 6-3.
Zerulo was defeated in the semifinals of singles by Annabelle Xu, 6-4, 6-4.
