Cowgirl Duo Advances To Quarterfinal At ITA Central Regional Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team competed on day three of the ITA Central Regional championships at the University of Iowa today.
Ayumi Miyamoto and Dariya Detkovskaya took down Lengwei Kong and Vitalia Stamat, 8-5, to advance to tomorrow's quarterfinal.
Martina Zerulo defeated Emilee Duong, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1, and Ayumi Miyamoto took down Lily Hutchings, 6-2, 7-5, in the round of 32. Sofia Rojas picked up a victory in straight sets in an extra match over Vasiliki Karvouni, 6-2, 6-2.
In singles, Zerulo and Miyamoto each were defeated in hard-fought matches in the round of 16. The Cowgirl duo of Martina Zerulo and Alana Wolfberg lost in the round of 16 against Dinara Alloyarova and Manami Utika, 8-5.
Tomorrow's doubles quarterfinal match starts at 9 a.m.
