Fierro Named To ANNIKA Award Watch List

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State All-American Isabella Fierro was one of 30 collegiate golfers named to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List.
A record-breaking freshman in 2019-20, Fierro earned WGCA and GolfWeek All-America honors after one of the best seasons ever by a Cowgirl. In the shortened season, Fierro posted four top-10 finishes in seven events and was ranked as the No. 27 player and the No. 13 freshman in the country by GolfStat.
Fierro's 71.76 season scoring average was the second-best in Cowgirl golf history, and she shattered the program's 54-hole scoring record in just her third career tournament with a 15-under 201 while winning the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. Her final-round 65 tied for the third-lowest 18-hole score in school history.
A standout in the classroom as well, Fierro was one of three Cowgirls to earn WGCA All-American Scholar status.
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award is named for LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, and is given annually to the nation's top female collegiate golfer. The winner is voted on by a panel of players, coaches and members of the golf media.
The Cowgirls will open the season on Sunday at the Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Country Club in in Norman, Oklahoma.
