Forsland, Fierro, Yu Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Accolades

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's Michelle Forsland picked up her fourth career Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar award, while Han-Hsuan Yu and Isabella Fierro both earned the first of their careers.
The Cowgirls tied for the Big 12 lead with three selections, and marked the fifth straight season with multiple All-American Scholar honors. Twenty-four different Cowgirls have now been selected for 50 All-American Scholar awards in the history of the program.
For OSU head coach Greg Robertson, this marks 15 WGCA All-American Scholars coached during his seven-year career.
The team's lone senior, Forsland competed in four events for the Cowgirls and earned her second career top-10 finish at the season-opening Trinity Forest Invitational. The former All-Big 12 Championship team selection graduated from OSU this spring and was named a Top-Five Senior in the Department of Management and General Business.
A record-breaking freshman, Fierro earned WGCA All-America honors after one of the best seasons ever by a Cowgirl. In the shortened season, Fierro finished with four top-10 finishes, including a record-setting win in just her third collegiate tournament, and set three additional Cowgirl records. Most impressively, her 71.76 scoring average was the second-best scoring average in Cowgirl golf history.
Yu ended her second season for the Cowgirls as the No. 157 golfer in the nation. The sophomore posted a 73.76 scoring average, which improved from her freshman season by nearly a whole stroke. Yu tallied two top-10 finishes on the season, with her best finish coming as a tie for eighth place at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
Nationwide, 1,401 women's golfers across all divisions of collegiate athletics earned the honor, which has some of the most stringent requirement of all national academic awards, including a cumulative 3.50 GPA.
