Cowgirl Basketball Adds Two Standouts
April 15, 2020 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed a pair of standouts to national letters of intent it was announced today by head coach Jim Littell. Tali Notoa and Brittany Reeves both signed with the Cowgirls and will join the program for the 2020-21 season.
A native of Brisbane, Australia, Notoa helped guide Ipswich Basketball Association to multiple Queensland state championships, claiming titles in 2016 and 2017. The 5-9 guard represented Queensland in 2016, 2017 and 2018 at the Australian National Championships as well. In her most recent appearance with the state squad, she helped Queensland to a silver medal at the U20 Australian Championships in 2020, averaging 17.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game.
Notoa competed for Australia at the 2019 FIBA U17 Women's Oceania Championship, helping her squad to the gold medal in New Caledonia. She spent last season competing for the Logan Thunder Women's QBL squad.
"Tali is an athletic combo guard with the ability to shoot the three and score off the dribble. She makes good decisions and her length and athletic ability give her the tools to be a very good defender," Littell said.
A 6-5 forward, Reeves was named to the 2020 WBCA Two-Year Coaches' All-America squad and was tabbed as a second-team NJCAA All-American following her sophomore campaign at Independence (Kan.) Community College. The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Player of the Year and a first-team All-KJCCC selection, Reeves averaged 19.5 points, 15.3 rebounds per game and 1.6 assists per game, highlighted by a 42-point, 25-rebound performance against Garden City on Jan. 4.
The Macon, Ga., native finished the year ranked 19th nationally in scoring and second in rebounds per game. Reeves connected on 54.2 percent of her shots from the floor and 71.1 percent of her attempts from the free-throw line.
"We are excited to add Brittany and her skill set to our front line. She brings another proven scorer and rebounder to our program. With her strength, she has the ability to finish in traffic and she can also step out to 15 feet and stretch the defense," Littell said.
