Oklahoma State Game Notes
• The Basics
Oklahoma State will host its final regular season game in Gallagher-Iba Arena on Wednesday when Kansas State visits Stillwater. The Cowboys are looking for their fifth straight home win in Big 12 play, which would be OSU's longest streak of league wins in GIA since 2012-13. The Cowboys are also seeking their first season sweep over K-State since 1994. Cameron McGriff, who just made his 75th straight start, is averaging 20.5 points on 55.4 percent shooting over his last four outings. A consistent theme under Mike Boynton, OSU is playing its best basketball late. The Cowboys have won five of their last eight overall, and those three losses came against KenPom top-10 squads. The Cowboys are 6-3 in March under Boynton, who will coach his 99th game on Wednesday.
• On the Air
Wednesday's game against K-State will air on ESPNU with Robert Ford and Tim Welsh the call. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. CT, and the webcast can be seen on the WatchESPN app or ESPN.com/Watch. As always, Dave Hunziker and John Holcomb will have the Cowboy Radio Network call.
• Postseason Scenarios
Regardless of what happens over its final two regular-season games, Oklahoma State is locked into the No. 8 vs. No. 9 game in the opening round of the Big 12 Championship (6 p.m. CT on ESPNU). However, OSU's seed and opponent are still up for grabs. The Cowboys and Iowa State are tied in the conference standings at 5-11 and split their regular-season series. If the Cyclones win out (at home vs West Virginia and at K-State) they have an opportunity to jump into the No. 7 seed if West Virginia also loses to Baylor and OSU falls at Texas. In that case, OSU would open up against West Virginia. All other scenarios have OSU facing Iowa State in the opening round. The Cowboys are 12-2 all-time in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.
• Consistent Cam
The always-reliable Cameron McGriff has refined his shot-selection with an emphasis on getting into the paint, and as a result he's scored in double-figures in each of the last 10 games. On Saturday, the senior made his 75th consecutive start - the 10th longest streak in school history - and is averaging 15.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 49.1 percent shooting over the last 10 outings. He now ranks 17th in the Big 12 in scoring (11.9 ppg), eighth in rebounding (6.7 rpg) and fourth in free throw percentage (83.5). He recently became just the sixth player in school history with at least 1,000 points, 700 rebounds and 55 blocks, and the senior has played in 129 career games - 10th most in school history.
• The Series With The Wildcats
This will be the 138th meeting between the Cowboys and the Wildcats in a series that dates back to 1922. OSU's win in Manhattan earlier this month snapped K-State's four-game win streak in the series. Overall, the Wildcats lead the series, 83-53, although OSU has a 33-27 edge in Stillwater. K-State still owns a three-game win streak in GIA. The Wildcats have a 41-17 lead in the Little Apple.
• How Sweep It Is
After winning in Manhattan back on Feb. 11 the Cowboys are looking to sweep a two-game series against K-State for the first time in the Big 12 era. OSU last won a pair of regular-season games against the Wildcats in 1994 when the two were Big Eight foes.
