STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's Vivian Gray was honored for her work in the classroom on Thursday with her selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Women's Basketball Team.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom across four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
A junior from Argyle, Texas, Gray carries a 3.7 GPA in marketing and was joined on the District 7 squad by Texas Tech's Brittany Brewer, Baylor's Lauren Cox, Rice's Erica Ogwumike and Kansas State's Peyton Williams.
Yesterday, Gray was added to the Wade Trophy Watch List, which is presented to the NCAA Division I National Player of the Year. Additionally, she is a top-10 finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award, honoring the nation's top small forward.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
