Fierro Looks To Defend Betsy Rawls Invitational Title In Austin
October 09, 2020 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Isabella Fierro will defend her title at the Betsy Rawls Invitational this weekend at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Fierro won the 2019 Betsy Rawls in record-breaking fashion in just her third career event. Her 15-under 201 tied the event's scoring record and shattered the OSU 54-hole scoring record by four strokes. Fierro's final-round 65 tied for the third-lowest round in school history.
Fierro would go on to earn All-America honors and her 71.76 season scoring average would become the second-best mark in school history. She opened the 2020 campaign her fifth career top-10 finish after a 2-over 212 at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma.
Fierro will compete at the Betsy Rawls Invitational as an individual alongside OSU freshmen Rina Tatematsu and Angelica Pfefferkorn. Both freshmen will be making their second appearances as Cowgirls this weekend after and impressive showing earlier this month.
