The Basics
- The No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowboys are heading into their home-opening matches in a doubleheader against Lamar and Bryant.
- The Cowboys are 1-0 after sweeping San Diego State last weekend in California. This is the eighth year in a row that the Cowboys have opened their regular season with a win.
- The Cowboys had a successful fall season starting with a win at the Silverado Invitational in Napa, Calif. in September. Mathieu Scaglia, Emile Hudd, Luke Hammond and Brady Draheim represented OSU in the tournament.
- The dynamic duo of No. 1 Matej Vocel and Dominik Kellovsky collected its first tournament win of the fall at the Arkansas Futures event in September. The most impressive win of the fall came when Vocel and Kellovsky defeated John McNally and Robert Cash of Ohio State in the finals of the 2019 ITA National Fall Championships, which earned them their No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings.
Las Time Out
- The Cowboys opened the 2019-20 season with a clean sweep of the San Diego State Aztecs, winning the doubles point and all six singles matches.
- The top-ranked doubles team in the country, Matej Vocel and Dominik Kellovsky, won its first match, 6-2, against Ignacio Martinez and Aaro Pollanen. Maxim Tybar and Mathieu Scaglia defeated Arnaud Restifo and Fabian Roensdorf, 6-3, to claim the doubles point for OSU.
- The highest-ranked individual on the Cowboys, No. 41 Matej Vocel, defeated his opponent Fabian Roensdorf, 6-2, 6-0.
- No. 91 Dominik Kellovsky picked up his first regular season win as a Cowboy by defeating Pollanen in a competitive match, 6-4, 6-7(7), 10-7.
- Mathieu Scaglia took down Jan Kirchhoff, 6-4, 7-6(4).
- The match-clinching point came from Luke Hammond who defeated David Hough, 6-2, 6-2.
- The first singles point of the day for the Cowboys would come from Brady Draheim as he defeated Ignacio Martinez in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.
- One of the two newest Cowboys, Etienne Donnet, claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory in his first match as a member of the team.
A Look at Lamar
- OSU is 7-0 all time in its meetings with Lamar, which includes its last win in 2018 when the two schools met in Stillwater. Oklahoma State and Lamar first played each other in 1965, and OSU has won every match since. The Cowboys are also 3-0 against Lamar since being led by head coach Jay Udwadia.
- Friday's doubleheader in Stillwater will be the regular season opener for Lamar.
- Lamar finished the 2018-19 season with a 6-18 record, including a 1-4 finish in conference play. Lamar only played one Big 12 opponent in the 2018-19 season when it went up against Texas Tech and got swept, 7-0. Lamar specifically struggled in roach matches, where it finished with a 2-9 record.
- Lamar does not not have an individual or doubles team in the 2019-20 ITA Division I rankings.
A Look at Bryant
- OSU is 2-0 all time in its meetings with Bryant, which includes its last win in 2018 when the two schools met in Stillwater. Oklahoma State and Lamar first played each other in 2016.
- Friday's doubleheader in Stillwater will be the regular season opener for Bryant.
- Bryant finished the 2018-19 season with a 20-11 overall record, including an impressive 6-0 record in conference play. Like Lamar, the Bryant only played on Big 12 opponent in Texas Tech, who they lost to, 5-2. On the road, Bryant logged a respectable 10-6 record. Bryant faced No. 16 Columbia in the first round of the NCAA Finals last season but lost 4-0.
- Bryant does not have an individual or doubles team in the 2019-20 ITA Division I rankings.
Cowboy Quick Hits
- OSU has won at least 15 matches in six consecutive seasons under head coach Jay Udwadia, which includes 16 wins in the 2018-19 season. Four times during that stretch, OSU has hit the 20-win mark, winning 21 in 2014, 20 in 2016, 22 in 2017 and 20 in 2018.
- The Cowboys are set to face off against 12 of the top-25 teams in the country during its regular season: No. 2 Texas, No. 5 Baylor, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 14 California, No. 17 Michigan, No. 18 Tennessee, No. 19T Columbia, No. 22 Oklahoma, No. 24 San Diego and No. 25 Arizona State.
- The Cowboys logged their sixth-straight NCAA Championship appearance last season but fell in the second round to No. 11 UCLA.
- Head coach Jay Udwadia is second in OSU history in wins with 129. He trails just James Wadley, who has an unprecedented 662 total wins as head coach of the Cowboys. Udwadia also boasts a .653 winning percentage, which is good for fourth-best in OSU history.
- Head coach Jay Udwadia welcomes three new faces to the team this year in Dominik Kellovsky, Oscar Moraing and Etienne Donnet. The latter two were both added to the roster at the beginning of the spring semester.

- OSU is slated No. 15 in the 2020 ITA Division I preseason men's rankings.
- Dominik Kellovsky and Matej Vocel are the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the country after winning the ITA Fall National Championships.
- Matej Vocel is the highest-ranked individual Cowboy at No. 41. His highest ranking last season was No. 34.
- Emile Hudd and Dominik Kellovsky are also ranked in singles at No. 87 and No. 91 respectively.
