Vocel Nearly Upsets J.J. Wolf, Falls in Second Round of NCAA Singles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State sophomore Matej Vocel fell in his second-round match of the NCAA Tennis Championship to No. 2 J.J. Wolf of Ohio State, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, Tuesday at the USTA National Campus.

Vocel took the first set against the tournament's No. 2 seed, but proceeded to lose the second set, 2-6.

In the third, Vocel erased a 3-5 deficit to tie Wolf at five, but Wolf went on to claim the next two points and the match.

Vocel finishes his first season with the Cowboys with a 15-12 overall singles record and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
