STILLWATER – For the fifth-consecutive season, Oklahoma State Cowgirl tennis (19-7; 8-1 Big 12) was slated as an NCAA first and second round site, now having hosted a regional in each season since the completion of the Greenwood Tennis Center.Â

This year marks the program's eighth-straight season earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament bracket after facing an 11-year drought lasting through 2011. For six years in a row, the Cowgirls have advanced to the second round.Â

The Pokes seek their fifth-straight year winning 20 or more matches beginning on Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center when they take on the Bears of Central Arkansas.Â

-Â The Cowgirls have spent 89 consecutive weeks in the ITA Top 25. The last time OSU was outside the top 25 was March 18, 2014.
-Â The Cowgirls have won 20 or more matches in each of the last four seasons.
-Â Since 2012, OSU has made eight-straight NCAA Tournament appearances. That streak is the second longest in program history behind a 10-year streak that saw the Cowgirls earn NCAA TournaÂment berths from 1982-91.Â
- OSU has not lost more than two Big 12 matches in a season since 2013.

Eyeing the Field
No. 19 Miami has notched five top-15 wins this season, including an upset of No. 9 NC State in the ACC Tournament semifinals. The Canes boast the No. 2 singles player in the country in Estela Perez-Somarriba and No. 16 doubles tandem in Daevenia Achong and Daniella Roldan. The Bears of Central Arkansas defeated fourth-seeded Sam Houston State in the Southland Conference Championship. Washington State was ranked as high as No. 15 this season, a program best. The Cougars knocked of No. 10 UCLA in Pullman at the beginning of April.

Senior Scholars
Cowgirl tennis players Sofia Blanco, Marina Guinart and Katarina Stresnakova were named to the first team 2019 Academic All-Big 12 team, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. First team members consist of athletes who have maintained a 3.20 grade point averages or better. Blanco and Stresnakova boasted 4.00 GPAs, representing Cowgirl Tennis as one of two programs with multiple players reaching that mark. The nod comes as Guinart's first and Blanco and Stresnakova's third time bringing home the award. Guinart is set to finish her degrees in marketing, management and entrepreneurship next month, and both Blanco and Stresnakova will graduate with degrees in psychology.
