Player Notes:
- Yor Anei blocked eight shots today, setting a new career-high and breaking the OSU freshman record. There has only been one other time in OSU history in which a player had more blocks: Joe Atkinson had 10 against New Orleans in 1985. He now has blocked at least one shot in 16 straight games and in 27 of OSU's 31 games overall.
- After blocking eight today, Yor Anei has now blocked at least four shots in eight games this season. Only five players in OSU history have had more than him in their careers.
- Isaac Likekele set a new career-high in assists today with nine.
- Thomas Dziagwa scored 15 points today. He has reached double-figures in scoring in six of the last seven games.
- Thomas Dziagwa knocked down three 3-pointers today. He has hit at least one 3-pointer in every game but one this season, and now has 23 games with at least a trio of 3-pointers
- Lindy Waters went 3-of-5 from three today. He is 42-of-84 (.500) from 3-point in Big 12 play, which ranks second in the league.
- Curtis Jones scored 13 points today; he has now scored in double-digits in three of the last four games for the Cowboys.
- Five Cowboys scored in double-figures today: Lindy Waters (19), Thomas Dziagwa (15), Curtis Jones (13), Yor Anei (16) and Cameron McGriff (14).
- Derek Culver of West Virginia pulled down 21 rebounds today. He broke the opponent record in Gallagher-Iba Arena for the most rebounds in a game. Jeff Withey had 20 in 2012.
Postgame Notes:
- Both teams came into today's matchup looking to break a series tie at seven wins a piece. Today was the 15th time the Cowboys and Mountaineers have faced off, and the Cowboys now have an 8-7 edge all-time. Today was the first time in the past five matchups that OSU beat the Mountaineers in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
- OSU went on a 14-2 run that ended with 8:45 remaining in the first half. The Cowboy lead got as large as eight points in that span. Another 12-2 run later in the half would extend the Cowboys' lead to as many as 12. OSU would go into halftime with a 49-41 lead thanks to three different Cowboys scoring in double-digits: Curtis Jones, Lindy Waters and Cameron McGriff.
- West Virginia managed to tie up the game with 8:59 remaining in the second half. The tie was the closest the Mountaineers would get to taking the lead as the Cowboys would hold on to win it in Stillwater for the first time in five games against West Virginia.
Team Notes:
- The Cowboys will take on TCU in their first game of the Big 12 Tournament at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday night.
- The Cowboys have now won the past three matchups between them and the Mountaineers.
- OSU has won its final home game in five of the last seven seasons, including today's 85-77 win. Since 1990-91, the start of the Eddie Sutton era, the Cowboys are now 21-8 on "Senior Day."
- After making 11 today, OSU has knocked down 11 or more 3-pointers in four of the last six games.
- The Cowboys went into halftime with an eight-point lead over West Virginia. OSU is now 10-4 this season when it leads at the half.
