Cowgirl Equestrian Finishes Undefeated at Totusek Arena

STILLWATER –The fifth-ranked Oklahoma State equestrian team defeated Fresno State, 14-5, Saturday at Totusek Arena on Senior Day.
The meet started inside with Equitation Over Fences. OSU (7-5) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead thanks to Sydnie Ziegler, Hannah Janson and Cassidy Wilbourn. Katie Schell then closed out a 4-1 Fences victory with an 85-78 decision that came with MOP honors.
Following Fences, the Cowgirls were able to host Horsemanship outside for the first time since last November. OSU took the event, 3-1-1, with wins from Emma Verplank and seniors Sarah Miller and Paige Kemper.
Kemper earned her first career MOP award with her 76-71.5 victory.
"It's incredible, and I couldn't have scripted it any better," OSU head coach Larry Sanchez said. "Paige is one of those girls who gives her heart into everything that she does. She loves what she does, and she loves this team."
Meanwhile inside, Equitation on the Flat began with Ziegler and Janson both picking up their second points of the day. OSU won the event, 3-2, with Abigail Brayman collecting the clinching point.
OSU's No. 2 Reining squad closed out the final meet of the regular season. The Cowgirls were victorious, 4-1, with points from Hannah Mitchell, Stephanie Helsen, Hannah Lovrien and Kristi Wiggins.
Mitchell collected her fourth MOP honor with a score of 74, a new season-high for the junior. Helsen also won her fifth-straight matchup.
Next up for Cowgirl equestrian is hosting the Big 12 Championship on March 29-30.
