Cowboy Tennis Falls in Final Non-Conference Match

Orlando, Fla. βΒ Oklahoma State's men's tennis team faltered against No. 42 UCF, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.

The Knights got off to a fast start in doubles, as the tandem of Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel defeated OSU'sΒ Maxim Tybar and Mathieu Scaglia, 7-5.
Gabriel Decamps and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi claimed the doubles point for UCF after dropping Artur Dubinski and Matej Vocel, 6-3.

In singles, UCF extended the lead to 3-0 after Mikhail Sokolovskiy dropped Luke Hammond, 6-2, 6-3, and Alan Rubio beat Maxim Tybar, 6-3, 6-4.

The Cowboys kept the remaining four singles matchups close as they all went the distance into the third set, but Pavel clinched the match for the Knights with a victory over Dubinski on court three, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.

Wednesday's match marked the first time in school history that the Pokes fell to the Knights. OSU still leads the all-time series, 2-1.
The Pokes are back in action March 29 when they travel to Norman to kick off conference play against Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
