Guinart Claims Cowgirls’ Second Conference Honor of Season

STILLWATER – Senior Marina Guinart received Big 12 Conference Co-Player of the week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday, marking the second honor for Cowgirl tennis this spring. Lisa Marie Rioux also received the honor for OSU following her outing at the Blue Gray Championships in February.
Guinart opened Big 12 play last weekend against Kansas and Kansas State and went undefeated in singles and doubles. The Cowgirl alongside doubles partner Katarina Stresnakova knocked of KU's No. 40 tandem Sonia Smagina and Anastasia Rychagova, 6-2.
The Cowgirl went on to claim the Pokes' first singles point against tenth-ranked KU with a 6-3, 6-0 defeat of Smagina.
Two days later, Guinart defeated Karine-Marion Job, 6-2, 6-2, in singles and collected a second doubles win with Stresnakova, besting Wildcat duo Job and Ines Mesquita, 6-4. The win moved the pair to 6-2 on the season, and Guinart's solo performances bring her to 9-0 this spring.
Oklahoma State is back in action with more Big 12 play this weekend at Iowa State on Friday and West Virginia on Sunday.
