Cowboys Begin Play at Pacific Coast Doubles Championships

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Mathieu Scaglia and Maxim Tybar began competition at the 130th Annual Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships Friday at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
Scaglia and Tybar recorded two victories on their way to the round of 16. The OSU tandem defeated Nic Barretto and Bjorn Hoffmann of Cal, 8-4, as well as Gavin Spencer and Nicholas Mitchell of San Diego State, 8-4.
In the round of 16, Tybar and Scaglia faced Govind Nanda and Johannes de Villiers (UCLA) and fell, 8-6.
The No. 32 Cowboys will face Villanova in a dual match at 7 p.m. Saturday in San Diego, weather permitting.
