Cowboy Duo Set To Play In Doubles Championships At ITA Fall Nationals

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team is competing in the 2019 ITA National Fall Championships this week in Newport Beach, Calif. No. 18 Matej Vocel and Dominik Kellovsky competed and won the semifinals of doubles play on Friday for an opportunity to play in the finals of the tournament.
Kellovsky and Vocel are the second-seeded doubles team in the tournament and went up against Franco Aubone and Benjamin Hannestad from the University of Miami on Friday. Kellovsky and Vocel got out of the gates fast and never looked back as they defeated the Miami duo, 6-0, 6-2.
In the finals, the Cowboys will face off against the doubles team from Ohio State in John McNally and Robert Cash. McNally and Cash defeated Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard of North Carolina in their semifinal match on Friday, 4-6, 6-0, 10-6.
The finals of doubles play will not begin before 3 p.m. (CST) in Newport Beach, Calif. on Sunday afternoon. To follow along with the final match, check @CowboyTennis and the Oklahoma State website.
