Meet Notes: Cowgirls Travel to TCU

The Basics                       Â
    The third-ranked Cowgirl Equestrian team looks to improve to 2-1 against conference opponents as they take on TCU in Fort Worth at 10 a.m. OSU is coming off a road trip to California where they split the meets with a loss to Fresno State and a win against UC Davis.
    TCU is 3-3 (1-1 in the Big 12) and has lost their last two meets against No. 1 Auburn and No. 7 Baylor.
About the Cowgirls                     Â
    The Cowgirls (4-2, 1-1 Big 12) are led by 21st-year head coach Larry Sanchez, first-year assistants Laura Brainard and Olivia Dorey and director of operations Kate Pollard. Caroline Becker is on the staff as a graduate assistant.Â
An Oklahoma State win would...                              Â
- Improve the Cowgirls' all-time record against the Horned Frogs to 20-10
- Make the Cowgirls 2-1 in conference
- Improve the Cowgirls' record in Fort Worth to 5-6
Who to Watch For                               Â
- Katie Schell: The returning junior, who is 5-1 on the year in Flat and 3-3 in Fences, received MOP honors in both flat and fences against UT Martin. She also recieved MOP honors for her performance in Flat against Baylor. Schell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Flat for the month of September.
- Emma Verplank: A returning All-American in Horsemanship and team captain, she earned MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn and is 5-1 on the season. Verplank was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Horsemanship for the month of September.
- Hannah Mitchell: Team captain Hannah Mitchell is 4-1-1 this year with MOP performances against South Dakota State and Baylor. Mitchell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Reining for the month of September.
- Freshmen: Gentry Cherry (3-2-1) and JoJo Roberson (2-3-1) both received MOP honors against UT Martin.
- Abigail Brayman was selected as the Big 12's Flat Rider of the Month for October. She went 3-0 on the month, with wins against Baylor, Fresno State and UC Davis.
