STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed a pair of in-state standouts it was announced today by head coach Jim Littell. Taylen Collins and Ruthie Udoumoh both signed National Letters of Intent and will join the program for the 2020-21 season.
"We are extremely happy to keep Taylen home. We have been recruiting her for a long time and she is one of the premier athletes in the country," Littell said. "She is an outstanding young lady off the floor as well and one who also takes a great sense of pride in her academics."
A 6-1 forward, Collins is a four-star recruit and ranked No. 82 in the ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 rankings. Additionally, she is ranked ninth at her position. Last season, she averaged 14.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game while leading Muldrow High School to a 29-2 record and a Class 4A runner-up finish.
The daughter of former Cowboy standout Terry Collins, a member of OSU's 1995 Final Four squad, she has compiled 1,310 points, 627 rebounds, 198 assists and 247 steals over the past three seasons.
"Ruthie comes from a program which has experienced great success in basketball and volleyball," Littell said. "She is very athletic, has a knack for rebounding and possesses a high basketball IQ. Ruthie has a tremendous upside and will flourish as she transitions into the wing position."
A product of Victory Christian School in Tulsa, Udoumoh led the Conquerors to their first-ever state tournament victory as a junior while averaging 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. An all-state honoree by the Tulsa World as well as an all-conference performer, she averaged 12.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a sophomore. She is listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 41 player at her position by ESPN HoopGurlz.
The 6-0 forward has excelled for the Victory Christian volleyball squad as well. This past fall, Udoumoh helped the Conquerors to their third consecutive state title.
