Cowboys Start Impressive Run In Singles Play Of ITA Regional Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Oklahoma State men's tennis team is being represented at the ITA Regional Championships in Norman, Okla. this week. Singles play began on Friday for the Cowboys in the tournament.
Mathieu Scaglia started singles play off with a win over Tom Kruse of UMKC, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(3). Emile Hudd took down Matt Hulme of Nebraska Omaha, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, after Hulme defeated Luke Moorehead of Creighton. Brady Draheim defeated Jason Kerst of Iowa in his second-round match on Friday.
Luke Hammond defeated Luka Jankovic of Drake in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5. The only Cowboy to record a loss was Dominik Kellovsky. Kellovsky had to withdraw from his match, because he was competing in the quarterfinals of the Arkansas Futures tournament on Friday.
On Saturday, Scaglia will take on Oliver Okonkwo of Iowa, while Hudd compete against Will Gleason of Nebraska. Draheim will face off against Moreno Lozano of Nebraska, and finally, Hammond will play Kody Pearson of Tulsa Saturday afternoon.
