AMES, IOWA—The Oklahoma State men's basketball team came up short in a conference matchup with Iowa State, 72-59, at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday.
Cameron McGriff led the Cowboys in scoring with 17 points. The junior captain also had nine rebounds and was tied as the game's leader in assists with four.
Yor Anei nearly earned his first career double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. The freshman's performance was his first with double-digit rebounding numbers. He blocked three shots, which is the sixth time he has blocked at least three shots in a game.
Lindy Waters III was another standout for OSU, scoring 14 points on a 5-for-9 shooting performance. Waters III also collected six rebounds.
Iowa State (14-4, 4-2 Big 12) and OSU (8-10, 2-4) matched shooting percentages as both teams shot 42 percent, but Iowa State pulled away thanks to a 10-for-25 performance from 3-point land.
The Cowboys outrebounded the Cyclones, 39-28. OSU moves to 6-4 on the season when it outrebounds its opponents.
OSU returns home at 8 p.m. on Wednesday to take on in-state rival Oklahoma. In the Cowboys' first meeting with the Sooners, OSU lost, 74-64.
