Scaglia, Dubinski Begin Fall Season with Victories

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Artur Dubinski and Mathieu Scaglia won their opening matchups to advance at the Futures F24 tournament on Friday.

Dubinksi, a senior, defeated Aaron Bailey (USA), 6-2, 6-3, while Scaglia, a junior, bested Ryan Cala (Philippines), 6-1, 6-2.

Dubinski and Scaglia will move on to the second round of the Qualifying Draw of the F24 tournament.

At the Silverado Invitational in Napa, Calif., the tandem of Brady Draheim and Emile Hudd defeated UNLV's Jordan Sauer and Zach Garner, 8-7 (3).

In the other doubles matchup, the Clayton Alenik and Eric Samuelsson of UNLV beat Maxim Tybar and Luke Hammond, 8-6.

In singles play, Oklahoma State failed to win a match against California.

Cal's Ben Draper defeated OSU's Maxim Tybar, 6-4, 6-2, while Bjorn Hoffman of Cal beat Luke Hammond, 6-4, 6-3.

Yuta Kikuchi defeated Emile Hudd, 6-1, 6-2, and it took Jackson Suh three sets to overcome Oklahoma State's Brady Draheim, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

The Cowboys will continue play at the Silverado Invitational at 12:30 p.m. (CST), Saturday in Napa.
