STILLWATER - The Big 12 Conference released the league's 2019 basketball schedule, which features Oklahoma State in primetime showdowns with Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma and a fifth straight season of 17-plus national TV showcase games.
Cowboy fans will be able to watch their team on CBS twice, including a tilt against the Jayhawks in Gallagher-Iba Arena, as well as 16 matchups on the ESPN family of networks.
The Big 12 was college basketball's most-viewed conference on television last season. The Big 12 ended the year with the best non-conference win percentage (.827) in college basketball and finished atop the RPI thanks to nine postseason participants and three squads advancing to the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.
Led by second-year head coach Mike Boynton, the Cowboys will host their first nationally televised CBS broadcast since 2010 when the Jayhawks come to Stillwater on March 2. OSU will also appear on CBS when they play at Texas on Feb. 16. This marks the first time since 2007-08 OSU will have two regular-season appearances on CBS.
Last season, OSU became the first team to sweep the regular-season series with the Jayhawks since 2001. With seven victories against Kansas since 2008, no team has more wins over the Jayhawks over the last decade.
OSU has won four of the last five Bedlam matchups, including two of the three games in 2018. Both of the 2019 Bedlam matchups will take place over a three-week span in January. The game against the Sooners in Norman will take place on Jan. 5 (tip and TV info to be determined) with the return to Gallagher-Iba Arena on Jan. 22 (8 p.m. on ESPNU).
Last season, OSU swept the regular-season series with Iowa State for the first time since 1995, and the Cowboys will open Big 12 play at home against the Cyclones on Jan. 2 (8 p.m. on ESPNews).
Senior day will feature the Cowboys against Bob Huggins and West Virginia on March 9 (3 p.m. on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNews). OSU has split the season series with the Mountaineers in each of the last two seasons, with the road team winning each time.
The Cowboys will also host Texas (Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.) Baylor (Jan. 14 at 8 p.m.), Kansas State (Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.), Texas Tech (Feb. 13 at 8 p.m.) and TCU (Feb. 18 at 8 p.m.).
The Cowboys are coming off a 21-15 campaign under Boynton that included six wins over top-25 opponents, including a school-record four wins over top-10 squads. Juniors Cameron McGriff, Lindy Waters and Thomas Dziagwa are expected to take center stage for OSU this fall.
The Cowboys will open the 2018-19 season at Charlotte on Nov. 10 but will return to GIA to host the home opener against UTSA on Nov. 14. Season tickets are on sale now starting at just $150. Visit okstate.com/tickets or call 877-ALL-4-OSU for more information.
