Cowboys Light Up NBA Summer League

STILLWATER – Cowboy basketball alums lit up the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Here's a breakdown on each player.
Michael Cobbins – Oklahoma City Thunder
Cobbins, who played with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G-League in 2017, saw action in three games during the Las Vegas Summer League and averaged a healthy 5.3 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the floor. In his most impressive performance, Cobbins was 3-of-3 from the floor for 10 points against Memphis.
Jawun Evans – LA Clippers
The second-year pro and former Cowboy All-American posted a pair of double-digit scoring games for the Clippers summer league team. Evans averaged 6.0 points in five appearances, and also poured in 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game. As a rookie last season, Evans averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists for the Clippers during the regular season.
Jeffrey Carroll – LA Lakers
Carroll helped the LA Lakers advance to the NBA Summer League finals, which meant an extended stay in Vegas for the rookie wing. Carroll saw action in nine games for LA, including six games of at least 12 minutes, and averaged 5.0 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the floor. Carroll's best game saw him pour in 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor, including a 2-of-5 clip from 3-point, against the Warriors.
Markel Brown – Houston Rockets
A veteran of 113 career NBA games, Brown once again showed his versatility and athleticism in the NBA Summer League. The former second round draft pick averaged 6.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in five games for the Rockets. What's more, he boasted a plus/minus of +33 in Las Vegas. Brown ended the event with outings of 12 points and 10 points against the Nets and Cavaliers, respectively.
