Texas All-State Guard Likekele Signs With Cowboy Basketball

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton has signed Texas first-team all-state guard Isaac Likekele (6-4, 190, G, Mansfield, Texas, Timberview HS) to a National Letter of Intent.
Likekele (pronounced "likely") led Mansfield Timberview High School to the 2017 5A state championship, and averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as a senior for the Wolves last year. 247Sports.com lists Likekele as the nation's No. 24 point guard and the No. 10 player in the state of Texas regardless of position. Both 247Sports and Rivals have Likekele ranked as a top-150 player in the country.
"This is a truly a great day to be a part of Cowboy Basketball," Boynton said. "We are thrilled that Isaac (Ice) has decided to join our program. He comes from a tremendous family whose values mirror those with which continue to build on. He is a talented basketball player with an off-the-charts work ethic and he is a fierce competitor. However, those attributes pale in comparison to the type of character he has. He is a humble and respectful young man who will represent OSU in a first-class manner at all times."
His play over the last two seasons has led to a number of accolades. He earned district MPV honors, was named to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's 2018 All-Star team and the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches named him First-Team All-State. Likekele also earned MVP honors at the prestigious Whataburger Basketball Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas.
"Isaac has great size for a guard and can play both of those spots in the backcourt," Boynton said. "He loves the challenge of defending the opposing teams' best player and he is a terrific passer who can also create shot for himself and finish in the paint. We look forward to working with Isaac on enhancing his skill set, but he is someone who will make a great impact on our program immediately."
He joins a Cowboy basketball recruiting class that includes Maurice Calloo (6-9, 225, F, Windsor, Canada), Mike Cunningham (6-0, 185, Gr., G, Washington D.C., USC-Upstate), Kentrevious Jones (6-10, 290, F/C, Macon, Ga.), Duncan Demuth (6-8, 215, F, Seminole, Fla.) and Yor Anei (6-10, 220, F, Lee's Summit, Mo.).
