Cowboy Tennis Falls to No. 9 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma State's 11th-ranked men's tennis team was handed a 4-0 defeat by No. 9 TCU during the second week of Big 12 play on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

Thus far, five of Oklahoma State's (20-6, 2-2 Big 12) six losses came against ITA top 25 opponents this season.

TCU captured the doubles points courtesy of wins on courts two and three. No. 63 Bertus Kruger and Reese Stalder of TCU came away with a 6-3 decision over Brady Draheim and Mathieu Scaglia, while No. 6 Guillermo Nuñez and Alex Rybakov of TCU notched a 6-2 victory over Artur Dubinski and Eleftherios Theodorou.

When doubles play was stopped, Oklahoma State's Jurence Mendoza and Luke Hammond were knotted up at 4-4 with TCU's Alastair Gray and Trevor Johnson on court two.

The Horned Frogs completed the sweep on the strength of straight-set wins from the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles positions. TCU's Stadler was first off with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Hammond followed by No. 17 Rybakov's of TCU's, 6-1, 6-3 win over Dubinski to make it 3-0.

On court one, No. 70 Trevor Johnson edged Tristan Meraut by a 6-3, 6-1 score line. Matches in progress included Scaglia in a, 1-6, 6-4, 0-1, battle with No. 70 Johnson of TCU at the No. 3 spot. Mendoza trailed No. 48 Gray of TCU, 6-4, 5-2 on court four and Theodorou battled with TCU's Kruger, 6-1, 5-5, on court six.

Oklahoma State wraps up the regular season with a Bedlam match against Oklahoma on Saturday. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. CT from the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
