Loryn Goodwin Honored By WBCA

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team added to its postseason awards haul on Thursday with Loryn Goodwin earning honorable mention All-America honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Previously named an All-Region 3 pick and an Associated Press honorable mention All-American, Goodwin was also unanimously named a first-team All-Big 12 selection as well as the league's newcomer of the year and a member of its all-defensive team in her lone season as a Cowgirl.
The graduate transfer was also named to the Wade Trophy Watch List this season. Goodwin was selected as the ESPNW National Player of the Week and to the NCAA.com Starting Five on Dec. 11. She was tabbed as the College Sports Madness National Player of the Week two weeks later and was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on three occasions.
The Cypress, Texas native led the league with her 20.6 points per game and her 3.5 steals per outing. Goodwin's scoring average ranks 19th nationally, while her steals average is eighth in the country.
Additionally, she was 11th among conference players in rebounding at 6.7 boards per game, was second in assists at 5.5 per contest and third in assist-turnover ratio.
The honor makes her the sixth different Cowgirl to receive the distinction. Goodwin joins the likes of Liz Brown, Andrea Riley, Toni Young, Tiffany Bias and Brittney Martin as Cowgirls to garner the honor.
