Cowboy Tennis Dominates Hawaii in Maui

MAUI, Hawaii – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team dominated Hawaii from start to finish on Wednesday afternoon, posting a 7-0 victory in Wailea, Maui.

The No. 15 Cowboys (16-4, 0-0 Big 12) took the doubles point courtesy of the tandems of Eleftherios Theodorou and Artur Dubinski, and Jurence Mendoza and Luke Hammond.

Theodorou and Dubinski defeated Hawaii's Blaz Seric and Aleksa Lazarevic, 6-3, while Mendoza and Hammond beat Fabian Woehrl and Felix Albert, 6-1.

With a 1-0 lead, the Cowboys proceeded to win every singles point.

On court four, Jurence Mendoza defeated Lazarevic, 6-1, 6-2, while OSU senior Tristan Meraut followed suit and bested Albert, 6-3, 6-2, on court two.

The match was officially clinched on court five, where Luke Hammond beat Woehrl, 6-4, 6-3.

After the match was clinched, No. 83 Dubinski defeated Seric, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), on court one and No. 111 Mathieu Scaglia bested Hawaii's Lucas Labrunie, 6-4, 7-5, on court three.

Theodorou finished the match with a victory over Hawaii's Tristan Martin, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. This was the only singles match that was not clinched in straight sets.

Wednesday marked the first match of the dual season that senior Julian Cash did not compete in doubles or singles play.

The Cowboys are back in action at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, when they will take on the Fresno State Bulldogs at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater.
