- The Cowboys won their opening round NIT game and will now face the winner of [3] Stanford and [6] BYU, who play Wednesday night in Palo, Alto, Calif. The date and time of OSU's next game will be announced as soon as it comes available.
- The Cowboys are now 5-1 in NIT games played in Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU took down Boise State in the opening round in 1989, as well as Tulsa in 1990, Tulane in 1997 and Harvard in 2011.
- The Cowboys are now 8-12 all-time in the NIT. Overall, this is Oklahoma State's 40th trip to the postseason (NIT or NCAA).
- This was OSU's 20th win of the year. It secures the 36th 20-win season in school history.
- The Cowboys weathered a 13-2 run by the Eagles at the start of the fourth quarter to cut the Cowboys' lead to six. Â
- OSU forced 12 first half turnovers, which is the highest by the Cowboys since forcing 13 against UTRGV on Dec. 22.
- An 8-0 run late in the third quarter extended the Cowboys' lead to 60-42, which was the largest lead of the night for the Pokes.
- With both teams getting off to slow start, the Cowboys went on a 12-2 run to take a 23-13 lead with 5:54 left in the second quarter.
- Jeffrey Carroll used some hot shooting at the free throw line to lead the Cowboys with 18 points. He made 12 free throws, which is a career-high for him.
- Tavarius Shine filled the stat sheet with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
- Brandon Averette, Mitchell Solomon and Lindy Waters provided some key scoring for the Cowboys. Averette had 8 points, Solomon had 13 and Waters added in 10 points.
- The Cowboys almost led for the entire game. They led for 34:37 in tonight's game.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 582 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
