Cowboy Tennis Falls to Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Oklahoma State's men's tennis team lost for the first time in five matches on Sunday, falling to No. 45 Memphis, 4-0, Sunday at the Racquet Club of Memphis.
The 14th-ranked Cowboys (14-4, 0-0 Big 12) lost the doubles points for the first time since their match against Columbia on Feb. 18. Julian Cash and Luke Hammond fell to Memphis' Andrew Watson and Ryan Peniston, 6-3, and Brady Draheim and Leftherios Theodorou lost to Matt Story and Jan Pallares, 6-3.
In singles action, Andrew Watson defeated OSU's Artur Dubinski in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Memphis quickly took the next two singles points, courtesy of No. 63 Ryan Peniston and Jan Pallares.Â
Peniston defeated No. 78 Julian Cash, 7-6 (7-4), 6-0, and Pallares beat Luke Hammond, 6-2, 7-5, to secure the victory.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Friday when they take on Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m. at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater.
