Cowgirls Land Six On Academic All-Big 12 Squad

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team placed six student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Team it was announced today by the league office.
The Cowgirls' had five of the league's 34 first-team selections and one of its 16 second-team honorees. OSU's total was the second-highest among league schools, while junior Jentry Holt was one of four league players with a 4.00 grade-point average. Senior Kaylee Jensen was one of 11 student-athletes to be honored for at least the third time.
The Cowgirls were represented on the first team by senior Mandy Coleman, a liberal studies major, Holt, a sports media major, Jensen, a nutritional sciences/allied health major, junior LaTashia Jones, a health education and promotion/exercise and health major, and junior Karli Wheeler, a nutritional sciences/human nutrition/pre-med major.
Redshirt freshman Jaden Hobbs, a health education and promotion/exercise and health major, represented OSU as a second-team selection.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
