McCray Named Big 12 Player of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis senior Megan McCray has been named Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It is the Cowgirls' third weekly recognition in the last month.
McCray helped lead the Cowgirls to a 4-3 victory over No. 3 Florida on Wednesday, clinching the match with a three-set singles win over No. 50 Josie Kuhlman on the No. 2 court. The Oceanside, Calif., native faced a 5-1 deficit late in the third set, but went on a run from that point by winning six-straight games to take the 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 victory.
McCray is 5-1 in dual action on the season thus far, including a 2-0 mark against ranked singles opponents. The recognition marks the senior's first career honor.
The Cowgirls will be back in action this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. as they host No. 18 Miami at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The team will take the court Sunday as well, as they will take on Pacific at noon in Stillwater.
