Vocel Moves on to Norman Open Round of 16

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State sophomore Matej Vocel defeated Canada's Samuel Philp, 6-4, 6-4, on Wednesday in the first round of the main draw at the Norman Open.
Vocel will face Diego Hidalgo of Ecuador in the round of 16 Thursday or Friday at Headington Tennis Center.
Vocel will also compete in doubles action with partner, Dominik Kellovsky. The pair will face Jenson Brooksby and Henry Craig of the USA Thursday.
Sophomore Maxim Tybar fell in the first round of the main draw. Alessandro-Damiano Ventre of Brazil defeated Tybar, 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-1.
