Hudd, Tybar Move on to Qualifying Second Round at Norman Open

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State sophomore Maxim Tybar and freshman Emile Hudd recorded victories in the first round of the qualifying draw of the Norman Open held Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Tybar defeated Kevin Gardner (Antigua), 6-4, 6-1, while Hudd defeated American Nathan Chavez, 6-4, 6-4.

The three other Cowboys that were competing in the qualifying draw dropped their matches Sunday.

Junior Mathieu Scaglia fell to Stefano Tsorotiotis (USA), 6-3, 7-5. Senior Artur Dubinski fell to Great Britain's David Fox, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

In his first action as a Cowboy, Dylan Bednarczyk fell to Mason Beiler of the USA, 6-1, 6-4.

Hudd and Tybar will have to win two matches Monday to move on to the main draw of the Norman Open beginning Tuesday.
