TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State freshmen Emile Hudd and sophomore Maxim Tybar took home the ITA Central Regional doubles championship after defeating Drake's Vinny Gillespie and Barny Thorold, 6-4, 6-4, on Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The pair defeated teammates Artur Dubinski and Matej Vocel in the semifinal round, 3-6, 7-6(4), 10-7, to reach the championship.
Hudd and Tybar played a total of five doubles matches this weekend, three of which were top-16 seeds in the tournament. The highest-seeded pair the two beat were fellow Cowboys Dubinski and Vocel (No. 4).
The Cowboys are back in action this week at the USA Futures F28 tournament in Waco, Texas.
