Cowboys Record Eight Victories at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team recorded eight victories across qualifying singles and doubles play at the ITA All-American Championships Monday.
In qualifying singles play, senior Cowboy Artur Dubinski defeated North Carolina's Mac Kiger, 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Maxim Tybar bested Henrik Korsgaard of Virginia Tech, 6-4, 6-4, and sophomore Matej Vocel also earned a win against Washington's Enzo Sommer, 6-3, 6-2.
Junior Mathieu Scaglia, fresh off a singles championship appearance last week at the Louisiana John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic, fell to California's Paul Barretto, 6-2, 6-1.
In qualifying doubles first round action, the tandem of Dubinski and Tybar beat North Carolina's Mac Kiger and Brian Cernoch, 7-5, 7-6(7).
Sophomore Brady Draheim paired with freshman Emile Hudd to defeat John McNally and J.J. Wolf of Ohio State, 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Scaglia and Vocel teamed up to defeat JanSoren Hain and Karlo Kranic of Ole Miss, 6-4, 6-3.
In the second round of qualifying doubles, Draheim and Hudd fell to Texas' Yuya Ito and Colin Markes, 7-5, 6-2. Scaglia and Vocel defeated Akos Kotorman and Ewan Moore form Tulane, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Dubinski and Tybar did not play a second round match, but will advance in the tournament as their opponents Bar Botzer and Julian Zlobinsky of Wake Forest took a walk over.
The second and third rounds of qualifying singles action will take place Tuesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.
Maxim Tybar will face UNC's Brian Cernoch, Dubisnki will face Jake Devine of USC, Vocel will go against Sven Lah from Baylor, and Scaglia will compete in the qualifying singles consolation bracket against Ivan Savelkic from NC State.
