FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Daniel Gafford's tip-in with 16.2 seconds remaining put Arkansas up by one, and the Razorbacks held on in the closing seconds for a 66-65 win over Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Oklahoma State had a chance to take the lead on the other end, but both Jeffrey Carroll and Mitchell Solomon missed at close range to help Arkansas secure the win.
Solomon did hit two big free throws to give the Cowboys a 65-64 lead with 22 seconds to go before Arkansas would take the lead for good.Â
Lindy Waters scored 17 points to lead the Cowboys (13-8), who fell to 3-2 in the Big 12/Southeastern Conference Challenge. Brandon Averette and Solomon added 10 points each in the loss.
BIG PICTURE
Oklahoma State: The Cowboys entered the game having won 10 of their last 11 games against Arkansas dating back to 1966. They appeared on their way to making it 11 of 12 on Saturday, but Arkansas used a 12-0 second-half run to take its first lead and then hold on in the closing seconds.
