- Tavarius Shine gave the Cowboys the win with a put back layup with six seconds to go. OSU ended the game on a 15-2 run to take this game.
- With 23 seconds to go, Lindy Waters took a charge on a shot that would have given the Longhorns a three-point lead.
- OSU extends its home win streak against unranked opponents to 15 straight games. It notches its second straight victory over Texas. OSU won the previous matchup, 84-71, in GIA.Â
- The win closes the gap in the all-time series with the Longhorns to 49-43 and increase its lead in the series in Stillwater to 23-14. The Cowboys move to 2-3 in Big 12 play, which would be the team's best five-game Big 12 start since 2013-14.
- A 13-0 run late in the second half erased UT's 12-point lead and gave the Cowboys a 63-62 lead.
- Jeffrey Carroll is continuing to race up the program's career scoring charts. His 17 points passed Chianti Roberts and Mario Boggan and pushed him to 31st in OSU scoring history with 1,137 points. .
- This game saw 7 lead changes in the first 13 minutes of the game until UT took back-to-back three-pointers to take the lead for more than half of the game.
- Yankuba Sima had one of his more productive games on the season. He finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
- After only forcing eight turnovers against Kansas State, the Cowboys got back to their strong defensive ways and forced 15 turnovers today.
- Waters had a strong performance for the Cowboys. He shot over 70 percent from the field to finish with 10 points.
- Brandon Averette poured in double-digit points for his second straight game. He finished with 11 points
- The Cowboys had a season-high four dunks in today's game.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 564 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
