Cowboys Wrap Up Day Two in Napa

NAPA, Calif. – Oklahoma State men's tennis collected four more team wins Saturday as the Cowboys concluded their second day of competition at the Silverado Resort & Spa's College Invitational in Napa, California.
Maxim Tybar, Mathieu Scaglia and Brady Draheim were the Cowboys that picked up wins as the trio each won their respective singles matches, while Scaglia and Draheim triumphed in doubles play.
Tybar was the first Cowboy to earn a victory Saturday, as he knocked off Hawaii's Blaz Seric in straight sets, 7-6(3), 6-4. It is the second win in as many days for the freshman competing in his first collegiate tournament at OSU.
Following Tybar's win, Mathieu Scaglia knocked off Hawaii's Lucas Labruine in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. The win keeps Scaglia unbeaten in singles action during his career at the Silverado Invitational, as he went 3-0 last season and has won both of his contests in 2017.
The final singles victory for OSU on Saturday came from freshman Brady Draheim, who defeated Fabian Woehrl, 6-2, 6-1, to collect his first collegiate singles victory. After earning his first career singles win, Draheim and his doubles partner Scaglia picked up their first win as a tandem this year with an 8-5 triumph over California's tandem of Barretto and Merinelli.
Luke Hammond, the third of the OSU freshman class to be competing this week, suffered a three-set loss to Hawaii's Felix Albert, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, in singles action. Hammond and Maxim Tybar were also downed in doubles action Saturday, as they fell to California's Conner Heap and Jacob Burmm, 8-5.
Overall the Cowboys have compiled eight team wins through two days of competition in Napa, California. OSU will wrap up play at the Silverado Invitational on Sunday with the final set of matches slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. PDT.
