LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State women's tennis players Vladica Babic and Marina Guinart both came up short in their qualifying final matches Monday morning at the Team Luke Tennis Classic.
Â
Following a pair of straight-set wins in her first two rounds, Babic dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match to top-seeded Kennedy Shaffer of Georgia to end her weekend at the event. Babic bows out over impressive wins over Daniella Silva of Canada and Texas Tech standout Sarah Dvorak.
Â
Faced with a tough matchup in former Georgia Tech star Rasheeda McAdoo, newcomer Marina Guinart fell short, 6-4, 6-1. Like Babic, Guinart also went 2-1 overall on the weekend, posting wins over Baylor's Kristina Sorokolet and TCU's Aleksa Cveticanin.
Â
The Cowgirls will return to action this Sunday, as the Greenwood Tennis Center hosts the second annual Stillwater Pro Tennis Classic. More information on the event can be found here.
