Cowboy Tennis Brings Home Title From Silverado Invitational

NAPA, Calif. – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team won the team title on Sunday at the Silverado Invitational in Napa, California by collecting 13 total wins throughout the weekend.
The field included two teams that finished inside the top 50 of the 2016-2017 ITA Rankings, including No. 47 University of San Diego and No. 10 University of California at Berkley.
The Cowboys swept the singles matches against a talented Dartmouth lineup earning four team points.
Mathieu Scaglia went undefeated in singles matches finishing up with the defeat of Dartmouth's Max Fliegner 6-2, 7-6. Freshman Maxim Tybar had a perfect singles record this weekend with his final win coming over Dartmouth's Charlie Broom 7-6, 7-5.
Freshmen Luke Hammond and Brady Draheim also won their respective singles matches against Dartmouth. Hammond defeated Circo Riccardi 6-4, 6-4, and Draheim rallied back after splitting the first to sets with Dave Horneffer, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
The OSU doubles tandem of Tybar and Hammond earned their second win this weekend against San Diego's Gui Osorio and Joel Gamerov 7-6.
In doubles, Oklahoma State duo Tybar/Hammond went back-and-forth with San Diego's Gui Osorio/Joel Gamerov and would defeat the SD tandem, 7-6. The Cowboys finished the tournament with a 3-3 record in doubles.
Next up for Oklahoma State is the USA F31 Futures in Laguna Niguel, California on Sept. 15-24.
