Cowgirls Close Tour With 70-59 Win Over Basketball Australia

SYDNEY, Australia – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out its four-game tour of Australia on Wednesday with a 70-59 win over Basketball Australia. OSU closed its visit Down Under with a 3-1 mark.
The Cowgirls got a strong performance from senior Kaylee Jensen, who finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds on a 10-of-14 shooting effort from the floor.
OSU shot 44 percent, including a 50 percent showing (7-14) from the 3-point line, in the first half to take a 46-31 lead at the break. The Cowgirls built their cushion courtesy of a 25-point outburst in the second period.
Basketball Australia held OSU to just 10 points in the third period and trailed by 13 heading into the final 10 minutes.
With 6:35 remaining in the game, the home team cut OSU's margin to 58-54 before the Cowgirls used a 5-0 spurt over the next two minute to regain their cushion.
While Jensen was the lone player in double figures for the Cowgirls, OSU used a balanced scoring attack with 10 players getting into the scoring column.
Senior Loryn Goodwin scored nine points to go with four assists, while senior Mandy Coleman added seven points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Areanna Combs came off the bench to add eight points and five rebounds.
