Cowgirls Drop Exhibition Contest Against Waverley

MELBOURNE, Australia – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team dropped the second game of its tour of Australia on Thursday night, falling to former Cowgirl Tegan Cunningham and the Waverley Falcons, 62-58, at Waverley Basketball Stadium.
The Cowgirls never got on track offensively, hitting just 18 of their 72 field-goal attempts (25 percent) and just 17 of their 26 free throws (65 percent) in the contest.
OSU did have a big second quarter, outscoring the Falcons by a 28-14 count to lead 37-25 at the break. However, Waverley chipped away at the deficit and cutting the margin to four heading into the final quarter.
Waverley got a strong second half from Cunningham, who finished the contest with a team-high 16 points to go with nine rebounds.
The Cowgirls got a double-double performance from senior Kaylee Jensen, who finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds. She was joined in double figures by fellow senior Loryn Goodwin, who added 14 points and four assists, while junior Karli Wheeler came off the bench to score 10 points.
OSU will play the third of its four games during its visit Down Under on Monday, August 14 when it takes on the Cairns Dolphins.
