Former Cowgirl Megan Robbins Returns To Stillwater To Join OSU Staff
July 20, 2017 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Former Oklahoma State standout Megan Robbins has returned to her alma mater, joining the Cowgirl staff as its director of basketball operations.
"We are excited Megan made the decision to return to Stillwater and join our staff," OSU head coach Jim Littell said. "It is always nice to bring back a former player and alum. Megan bleeds orange and her attention to detail, organization and passion for OSU will be a valuable asset to our program."
Robbins spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa. Last year, the Golden Hurricane had a pair of players named to The American All-Freshman Team. During the 2014-15 campaign, TU posted an 18-14 mark, good for its first winning record since 2006, and advanced to the second round of the WNIT.
Robbins began her coaching career at TU after spending the 2012-13 season as a graduate assistant at OSU, helping the Cowgirls to a 22-11 mark and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to her stint in Stillwater, Robbins served as a graduate assistant at Pittsburg State during the 2011-12 campaign, helping the Gorillas reach the NCAA Division II Elite 8.
In 2010-11, Robbins served as an assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, where the Jets advanced to the NJCAA Final Four with her on staff.
The former Megan Byford patrolled the post for OSU from 2007-10, where she was a two-year starter and served as team captain as a senior. She helped guide the Cowgirls to three-straight postseason tournament appearances, including their NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2008, the second round of the WNIT in 2009, and a No. 3 seed and NCAA Second Round performance in 2010.
"I have always wanted to give back to the program that helped build me as both a player and as a person," Robbins said. "This is more than a university to me, it is home and this was an opportunity I could not turn down."
Robbins began her college career at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, where she was named a third-team NJCAA All-American and led the nation in field goal percentage at 71.4-percent.
