Cash and Kadhe Selected to Compete In NCAA Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State tennis' Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe were both selected to compete in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships this season, with the duo earning a top-eight seed in doubles and Cash securing an at-large bid in singles.
Cash and Kadhe's selection marks the tandem's second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championship, as the right-handers advanced through to the quarterfinals of the tournament last season en route to earning All-America honors.
This season, the All-American tandem's top-eight seed guarantees them to repeat as ITA All-Americans. It will be the fourth career honor for Kadhe, making him the first Cowboy in team history to be tabbed on four occasions. The All-America selection will also be the second for Cash in as many years at Oklahoma State.
"I'm looking forward to my four appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championship," Kadhe said. "It's going to be a tough competition and we are looking forward to playing some good tennis."
Cash and Kadhe have been a vital part of OSU's success on the court this season, as the duo has posted a 27-8 mark in matches played together, which includes a 17-4 mark in dual matches this spring. The pair's success has seen them ranked no lower than No. 6 this season in the ITA's doubles rankings.
Along with his doubles selection, Julian Cash was also one of 49 competitors to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Singles Championship. It is the second-straight year that Cash has been an at-large selection for the singles tournament.
Cash has been a catalyst at the top of OSU's singles lineup this season, posting a team-high 18 wins during the 2016-17 campaign. Nine of his wins have come against ranked opponents, including two that held spots in the top-10 of the ITA's singles rankings. The right-hander is currently ranked No. 24 in the nation.
"I'm really excited to be going back to compete in the postseason once again," Cash said. "All of the credit goes to my coaches and teammates for helping me get to this point again this season and I'm looking forward to giving it my best shot. Hopefully I can make a deep run in both tournaments and represent this university well."
Both the singles and doubles competitions will be conducted May 24-29 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 18-23. The University of Georgia will serve as host.
All matches shall be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a 7-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
Automatic qualification into the Division I singles championships is awarded to any conference with one or more eligible singles players ranked in the ITA Top 125 for eligible/entered singles players. For conferences with more than one singles player within the ITA Top 125 eligible/entered singles players, the subcommittee applies the NCAA selection criteria to determine which student-athlete is the automatic qualifier from those conferences. All singles players must have a minimum of 13 completed singles matches, with six matches in the spring, in order to be selected as an automatic qualifier or an at-large selection.
