Cowgirls Emerge Victorious On Senior Night

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team won its second consecutive home game on Saturday evening, posting a 67-63 win over West Virginia in front of 1,884 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
OSU's Senior Night victory moved the Cowgirls to 16-12 overall and 6-11 in the Big 12. West Virginia dipped to 19-10 and 7-10.
The Mountaineers led by as many as six points in the first quarter before OSU closed the period with the final four points to close within 17-15.
Neither team led by more than four in the second period until junior Mandy Coleman scored back-t-back baskets, giving OSU a 33-27 advantage with less than a minute remaining in the half.
The Mountaineers tied the score on three occasions in the third before finally moving back in front with 1:22 on the clock before OSU freshman Rodrea Echols drained a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to send OSU into the fourth period with a 45-44 lead.
Junior Kaylee Jensen drained a 3-pointer of her own with 2:59 left to put OSU out in front 60-49 before a 10-0 WVU run cut the margin to just two with 1:32 remaining.
Sophomore Karli Wheeler knocked down a four free throws and senior Diana Omozee banked in a jumper with 21 seconds left to fend off the Mountaineers.
Wheeler led OSU with 17 points, while Jensen finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Coleman chipped in with 11 points and seven boards in the contest.
The Cowgirls will close out their regular season on Monday night when they travel to Ames, Iowa to face Iowa State at 7 p.m.
