Bolsova, Blanco Named to ITA Indoors All-Tournament Team

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis players Aliona Bolsova and Sofia Blanco have been named to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships All-Tournament Team, as voted on by the 16 participating head coaches and announced by the ITA on Thursday morning.
Bolsova was named to the all-tournament team at the No. 4 singles spot. The Cowgirl freshman went 2-0 at the championships, tallying straight-set victories over Ohio State's Sandy Niehaus and Cal's Olivia Hauger to move to 16-3 overall on the season and push her perfect record in dual matches to 5-0.
Both Bolsova and Blanco earned honors at No. 2 doubles, as the Cowgirl tandem teamed up to go 3-0 on the weekend to help the Cowgirls pick up doubles points against Ole Miss and Ohio State. Bolsova and Blanco's most notable win of the weekend came in the form of a 6-0 sweep of California's Olivia Hauger and Karla Popovic. The duo has been impressive in holding down the No. 2 spot for OSU this season, going 18-4 overall and 7-0 in dual contests.
As a team, the Cowgirls went 2-1 at the ITA National Indoor Championships last weekend, dropping then-No. 19 Ole Miss in the opening round to advance to the event quarterfinals for the first time in school history. OSU came up short to No. 7 Ohio State in an epic, 4-3 match in the quarterfinals, but bounced back with a 4-2 victory over No. 8 California in consolation action.
The Cowgirls now turn their attention towards a huge weekend in Florida that will present the team's toughest tests of the 2017 season. The weekend will begin in Lake Nona, Fla., on Friday at 6 p.m. ET, as OSU will face No. 5 Stanford in a 2016 national championship rematch before heading to Gainesville on Saturday for a match against the top-ranked Florida Gators at 4 p.m. ET.
